Love this!! Everything you did really enhances the feeling of space. Great work!

Since you ask for comments, my little unimportant nitpicking would be to crop a little off the top so that the grass occupies a larger portion of the image. And shave just the smallest slice off the right side so the barn is a little less centered, although it's by no means in the center as it is. Personal nitpicking only. As I said, great work!

Once again, attached is another barn I came across while spending a week exploring the Palouse for old barns and abandoned homesteads. And, as with other photos, my attempt was to indicate the vastness of the area and isolation of the structure. The entire photo was enhanced with Luminar Flex plugin. With its help, I was able to bring out a great deal of tones in the clouds, bring down the brightness in the green grass, but add a touch of brightness to the center of the grass (winter wheat) as if a shaft of sunlight was shining through. I also dodged the barn a bit to help it stand out. As always, your comments are welcome. Good, bad, or otherwise. Ken

Great results and I like the final image a lot. It belongs on your wall I'd have to say. Lovely

Ken, this has the makings of a really great shot. But, I would work on composition a little. Small items in the (mostly) center of the image are not as powerful as using in this case the rule of thirds. This image could be improved in my opinion by cropping. Because of its size, there are several options to play with.
I struggle with composition myself, and I even go back to paintings by the old masters for examples. Keep it up, this is great in many other ways.

????. I don't understand how anyone could find any fault with this image. That barns seems to be right where it belongs with the rule of thirds. By the way, I attempted to look at your photography website, but out of your 5000 photos I don't see any of them showing up. ???. The vastness of the area would not be shown if it was cropped. I think the OP knew exactly what he was doing, and it worked perfectly!

Your grass is fantastic, Photobum,
well, for the publication or public display, I would reduce the upper part of the sky - and Eurika, you have it!!!
Good work, happy shooting in the Palouse!

Old abandoned homesteads do make for a sense of loss, loneliness, especially with great clouds. How did this look in B/W with some dodging and burning? I find the B/W adds or enhances the emotion you working to create. I agree with some cropping as well.

Ken this is a great photo. I think it could be cropped any number of ways, and even be presented in a vertical format and would still be a good image. I even think the image would be successful as a landscape even if the barn wasn't in it. I am sure that there are all sorts of photography books about the Palouse. I have an idea for another one "Ken's Old Barns of the Palouse. Thanks for sharing.

Nice! I think the vibrance of the green colored grass really brings the whole scene out.
