nice pics. Enjoy your new lens.
In the 1990s, the "Conservationist" magazine from the Missouri Department of Conservation said that there were 4 herds. The locals disagreed, saying the the number was 7. There were apparently 4 herds that had white stallions. On one of my trips, we saw 3 of the white stallion herds at the same time, so it appears that the locals were correct.

Thank you. So far it's been a pleasure.

They (MDC and the federal rangers) have been forced to "manage" the herds. There was a small one with a white stallion an two white mares that hung out in Echo Buff State Park. People fed them, got too close to them and they lost all fear and respect for humans. I actually witnessed a woman trying to put her toddler on the back of one
can't fix stupid. The stallion was the first to go after he ate a convertible top. A couple of years ago they had a black Colt. Beautiful little boy. He and the mares started to get in trouble too so they've been "relocated" too.
There are still several herds around.
Thanks for the thumb John.
