I went to Lowes last weekend and about all employees had face coverings. The only problem, they were pulled down and only the chin was covered. I figured store policy was to wear one!

That has been my experience too. Many that wear them, pull them down making them useless.
Pelosi was just on MSNBC warning about what might be in our near future with the relaxed concern, and the mingling in the streets.

We all need to pray. The virus has not gone away, but many people act as though it is no longer potentially dangerous.
The country might be fortunate, but this summer might be a deadly nightmare.

If you want to know who's acting like the virus is gone, it's media. When 30 people gathered in Minnesota, mostly with masks and mostly distanced, but with guns and very quiet overall it was a national health emergency. Now, though, with little distancing, maybe 30% mask use, a lot of shouting, looting, and arson, a mob of thousands is a necessary right.

It might be more effective to complain to Lowe's corporate headquarters than here.

Believe it or not, the Lowes customer support line is a joke. It is constantly busy, and when I did get through a day or two earlier to enquire about my 15 day old order, I was on hold for over an hour. Busy? Yes, but why is HD able to do so much better? Furthermore, the store manager, who dealt with my wife's billing problem, was also not wearing a mask, so what makes you think corporate are going to be any better - if letting customers in without face masks is good for business, so much the better for their bottom line.

BTW, mid-afternoon on a Tuesday, and it was like a Saturday, busy as all get out.

FYI, this "complaint" was to illustrate the bigger problem, with customers, not just staff.

Then there are those customers that are non-compliant. My spouse was next to enter a very small UPS store from the sidewalk and a defiant woman without a mask bustled in front of her and the others waiting in line, jerked open the door and went inside. She emerged a short time later with a triumphant look and bustled past the three ladies in line at less than a safe distance away from them.
Gotta feel sorry for folks who have such low self esteem they feel the need to bully others.

Many stores have special hours for seniors now. Don't know about Home Depot or Lowes.

Home Depot: I park in front of one of their numbered parking lot pickup spaces. I telephone them to say I'm ready for my order which I paid for online. Someone wearing a mask comes out and asks through my closed driver's window if I'm (name). I say yes. She puts the item into my van where I have opened the side door. She leaves. I get out and close the door. I drive off. No problem. Yes, some people are entering the store without masks. Screw them.

HD here has the same system. Filled my order in 2 days. Lowes took 2 weeks - go figure.

Sorry about your mother's condition. Note that I have recently seen a plastic screen (looks a little like a wilder's mask) that may help and be usable. I don't know where to obtain them, but it is worth a little research.

You can get the plastic face shields from Vistaprint. 10 for $40.00. I just saw them on their website this morning.

Unfortunately the virus has become a political issue, which makes things worse.

Makes me wonder: What’s wrong with people?
I have just found out - many people seem to suffer from the Dunning Kruger effect. Their wording is more complex, as befits a learned paper (Google it), but in layman's terms it means that some (most?) people are too stupid to know how stupid they really are.

It really does seem to apply with this virus. Particularly to politicians.

Anyone mention the numbers and the science as the doctors have taught us to rely on? Over 99% of all Covid transmissions happen indoors not outdoors such as standing in line. However, when you get into the store don your mask. It is dangerous indoors. Apparently Gretchen Whitmer of my state didn't get the results of that study and doesn't believe in science.
