I notice mine doesn't show owner name either

Isn't that weird? I know that I've got my name and other copyright data entered into my camera....

Check the exif data on one of your flickr pics. I don't know about Canon, but my Nikon data shows the shutter count.

No, Canon EXIF doesn't show shutter count. (If it did, we wouldn't need all those different apps to dig it out of the cameras! )

When you have multiple EOS bodies and multiple cards shared across all the equipment, your system can provide no relevant information regarding the usage of any individual EOS body within the portfolio of cameras.

That I agree with, but if you only have one body and always format your cards after each session you will be okay. In the case where I have two different cameras, I again always start with a freshly formatted card. I know the problems associated with using multiple cards from one camera to another where the cards contain images when put in the camera.

Canon changes the way shutter count is available with each DIGIC generation. I haven't researched the question in a while, but possibly an EOS 5DIV can no longer be accessed by anyone other than Canon.

The dealer I bought my Canon 80D from told me the new firmware is only readable by Canon service. If I need to know the shutter count I must send the camera to Canon. What a bunch of BS.

It looks like if you're willing to spend a nominal amount for software from www.direstudio.com, access the shuttercount for even the newest DSLR and MILC EOS releases can be obtained without involving Canon support.

I would consider changing your dealer. EOSmsg is Windows only to my knowledge, and licensed for specific cameras - so no good for MTshooter - but it delivers the goods, definitely on the 80D.

Yeah, it is weird. My "owner name" does show up with my 6D and 7D II.
