Well, like most of us, still at home trying to do photography. Here are a few photos from yesterday with my new, to me, Nikon 300mm f/4 pf lens on a D500.
I set up an exercise plan by placing hummingbird feeder in the front of the house with pine tree in the back. I sit and watch hummingbirds for a while, then take the long walk through the house to the back deck to sit and watch other birds. Then repeat as necessary. I plan to do this all week!
My wife is not impressed, says my exercise routine is a bit weak.
Stay Safe,
Steve
You, your lens and the birds are getting along wonderfully.

I would like to get closer, so I don't have to crop as much, but the birds aren't cooperating.
Thanks,
Steve

I am sure pleased with them both. I need to try the lens on my D850 but I like the reach with the D500.
Thanks,
Steve

I think you will find that the cropping ability that you get with the 850 will more than replace the advantage of the "extra reach" with the D500. Not disparaging the 500. I have one too. But you can crop a distant spot in the frame from a D850 and have a very nice, sharp, detailed photo as a result.
