Sure is a beauty, Jack. I like your image better than what I got when I visited the area. In the Download, is the little Blue Box on the mountain what your PP software does? I notice it opens EXIF data when clicked on.
Not really bothered TOO much by the outline between the mountain and sky as much as I am by the apparent rim lighting around the taller saguaro. It looks odd that there isn't any around the saguaros on the left.

Thanks for looking cameraf4... Not sure what you're referring to about the Blue Box? I don't see it on my computer. Surely not intentional though.

The outline around the Saguaro is due to the light hitting the spines on the shaft, the other Saguaro's aren't in the light path.

Jack, when I hit "Double-Download" ["Download" then left click inside the image], a little blue box appears at about 11:00 High of the museum just off the inside ridge on the left. When I click that, I get a sidebar with Histogram and EXIF data. Just wondering: What IS your software of choice?

Hmmm, never tried the "double-download", I'm using On1 as my photo editor.

Question...do you have an EXIF viewer plugin you are using in your browser? The action you describe is that of a plug-in that displays EXIF data in the downloaded image...

FWIW: the “little blue box” does not appear for me on my iPad when viewing as I do not have an EXIF viewer plugin installed.

Actually, Don, I make use of Jeffrey Friedls site to get EXIF. My experience tonight with the "blue box"was a first.

The Coronavirus Quarantine's getting to me... I'm still able to get out for an occasional hike into the Arizona desert but it's warming up quickly and I'm not so good anymore at temps above 90 degrees, so I'm limited to early morning hikes and finishing by 09:00 am. So I'm spending more time digging through photos from those forgotten outings.

Here's a photo I came across from five years ago, it's a view of Superstition Mountain cloaked in a solid bank of storm clouds. In the center of the photo stands the Elvis Chapel at the Superstition Mountain Museum.

The Chapel was originally located at Apacheland, a western movie set located in Gold Canyon, Arizona, it was build for the Elvis Presley movie, Charo, and was frequently used over the years for many other western movies made there.

When Apacheland burned down back in 2004, the chapel survived the fire but the western town (movie set) was a total loss. The chapel was donated to the museum and a group of museum volunteers carefully disassembled the chapel and re-erected it at its present location.

The photo was taken at the end of April 2015, our springtime in the Sonoran Desert. The predominant yellow in the photo is mainly due to the flowering of the Palo Verde trees.

Jack .., outstanding work ..Some of my favorite ever posted on this blog from anyone ..... I have ON1 and like it ....your shot I posted here .., I took out the outline around all the mountains ...in your original on both your photo posts .., when you zoom them up ..there is a white ..type border outline on all the mountains between the sky and mountain ..., it comes when you process edit ..

Zoom up the copy of the one I redid for you ...no border outline ...easy to remove off the glowing cactus (I left it untouched)..which by the way is my favorite plant in the world .., , oh by the way .. our son lives in Scottsdale ....I love AZ .., especially Sadona ... ..../ retouched photo sent to private message ..

I’ll have to look at it on my iMac which has a browser plugin and see what I see.

Terrific photograph, thank you for posting. I believe it's one of the better desert pics I've seen, and I've seen quite a few. Once again, thanks for that and happy trails.
