The Coronavirus Quarantine's getting to me... I'm still able to get out for an occasional hike into the Arizona desert but it's warming up quickly and I'm not so good anymore at temps above 90 degrees, so I'm limited to early morning hikes and finishing by 09:00 am. So I'm spending more time digging through photos from those forgotten outings.
Here's a photo I came across from five years ago, it's a view of Superstition Mountain cloaked in a solid bank of storm clouds. In the center of the photo stands the Elvis Chapel at the Superstition Mountain Museum.
The Chapel was originally located at Apacheland, a western movie set located in Gold Canyon, Arizona, it was build for the Elvis Presley movie, Charo, and was frequently used over the years for many other western movies made there.
When Apacheland burned down back in 2004, the chapel survived the fire but the western town (movie set) was a total loss. The chapel was donated to the museum and a group of museum volunteers carefully disassembled the chapel and re-erected it at its present location.
The photo was taken at the end of April 2015, our springtime in the Sonoran Desert. The predominant yellow in the photo is mainly due to the flowering of the Palo Verde trees.
Please Stay Safe during these difficult times,

Sure is a beauty, Jack. I like your image better than what I got when I visited the area. In the Download, is the little Blue Box on the mountain what your PP software does? I notice it opens EXIF data when clicked on.
Not really bothered TOO much by the outline between the mountain and sky as much as I am by the apparent rim lighting around the taller saguaro. It looks odd that there isn't any around the saguaros on the left.
Jack - just a beautiful image - lighting, color, composition and everything else.
Thanks for posting!
Mark

Thanks for looking cameraf4... Not sure what you're referring to about the Blue Box? I don't see it on my computer. Surely not intentional though.
The outline around the Saguaro is due to the light hitting the spines on the shaft, the other Saguaro's aren't in the light path.

Thanks for the comments Smudgey, I live within a couple of miles of the mountain and hike it whenever I can make it. Lately, its been crowded with so many people having too much time on their hands, but I have some secrets left in the bag and don't run into others. I guess I don't sweat the rattlers as much as I do this virus, they usually let you know they're around.
Thanks for the response everyone, hope you're all staying safe.
