Isn't it a bit myopic to blame only Wallmart for our dependence on China for cheap products?

Yes we all buy cheap stuff.

Golly gee whiz. I never knew Walmart was the ONLY store that sold Chinese manufactured goods. Now I am wondering if Target, Costco, Sams, Penney’s, Sears and a hundred other stores sell Chinese made items. I wonder about Amazon too.

I guess the fact Walmart is one of the biggest employers in America, offering employment to thousands of people across America in areas where other stores won’t open might be a Positive for Americans.

You are so right, Just about everything in Bass Pro is made in China. Check it out.

I know you must be absolutely correct in that it is probably ONLY Conservatives that don’t wear masks. OK well that was before I saw Nancy Pelosi hugging and kissing total strangers a short while ago. Oh, did I mention she was not wearing a mask either. You must not have seen that all over the news. How funny Pence not wearing a mask bothers you but Pelosi not wearing a mask doesn’t evoke any problem from you.

I think the luxury of buying cheap Chinese junk will have to be rethought. Americans will slowly boycott their products in retaliation of the way they handled Covid-19. I know I will avoid their products if possible.

Yeah, but it seems to take a population at least 3 generations (4 for politicians) to understand the big picture and how one thing impacts another, the law of unintended consequences, et cetera.

"Impact" is a ubiquitously miss-used word. It is not a substitute for "affect". Learn correct grammar - look it up in an UN-abridged dictionary.

Masks? A virus is 1/9 the size of a human hair. A mask is going to stop that? These masks are something that the government is forcing on people. This whole thing is a scam.

Start building in America again. It’s national security. We can’t depend on a military, economic and geopolitical predator who’s ideology is rooted in Maoist Communism.
America has to rethink Unions etc, but it must be done in order to build a product that people will buy.
This will be a major socioeconomic challenge.

If a politician or any public figure wanted to impress me or give me “ hope and a sense of purpose” they would be wearing a mask in any public place. Assuming the responsibility that comes with being a politician or prominent public person puts them absolutely in a position to do what has been deemed necessary to provide “ hope and a sense of purpose.
These public examples “ MUST” start at the top with the people that have the responsibility to protect everybody. Authorative people in my past such as my parents, coaches, teachers, bosses etc. have always made more impression on me when they actually led by example. Only when they actually got down in the trenches and worked with me and for me did they have a greater impact on my ability to see that there is a way to get through, over or around difficult situations in my life.
It’s time for such leading people in our lives including the President and Vice President to start acting and doing the responsible things necessary to give us “ hope and a sense of purpose” when they are out in public.

Let's not forget that the word, misused, is often misspelled as miss-used. In reality there is only one S in the word and there certainly is no dash. Some need to learn correct spelling as well. Look it up right on your computer.

Have a wonderful day and be healthy,

Here on Hawaii Island finally everyone is catching on to the need to wear a mask when entering a store. I expect bare face shaming to become the norm everywhere as this pandemic continues. Most stores here at least require employees and store entrants to wear masks. Which leads me to the first winner of the "Bare Face Shame Award", the so-called head of the White House Corona Virus Coordination effort, Mike Pence. He was widely videod yesterday wandering the halls of the Mayo Clinic, the only one not wearing a mask and his excuse was that as Vice President he is frequently tested but is always getting negative results. The shame of this exhibition is bad and sad on so many levels it's hard to know even where to begin so I won't but still...

I saw that. Perhaps at some point, he will get the dreaded Darwin award...

Like you, I thought leaders were supposed to set and follow good examples. Our VP needs to have a little chat with the UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson. Boris has just recovered from a particularly nasty case of Covid-19. Boris now understands...

The only way that I am "forced" to go to Walmart is if they are the only store in town that carries what I need and then only if I can't get it from Amazon.

I absolutely do not like Wally World. I blame them for the current state of our dependence upon China--trying to sell cheap goods for some instead of quality goods for all. If they had stuck with USA suppliers back 50 years ago, there would not be the overabundance of cheap Chinese crap.

Actually, when Sam Walton ran the stores there was a policy to buy only American. When he died, that all changed as well as the stock price which went skyward. So, you see you only please some of the people some of the time.

Yes but Fauci doesn’t like the cure, wants vaccine, along with Gates and big Pharma.
