As far as the history of the house, surely the current owners of the land must know something

They may...if you could help me locate them...

I have over a thousand photos of this type. I started out shooting only old barns in the thumb of Michigan but seeing so many houses, well I jut had to shoot them as well. My intention was to do a book called "Reclamation", because they are so obviously being reclaimed by the environment. I'm still finding "new' old structures to shoot and haven't started winnowing them yet. There's something very beautiful about them and part of the beauty is the story they tell.

Baja that would be a best seller!! I have probably a few hundred photos of old barns/farms that I should put to some kind of use. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!!

It is sad and such a beautiful location too!! I really enjoy your photos of old houses and barns, always well done, Jederick.

Many, many thanks, John...I appreciate your compliment. Gonna try and get a barn photo or two up tomorrow...our house is being painted and I'm getting all kinds of interruptions!!

Redo in BW for more dramatic look. Add more contrast & clarity.

Accurate witness of time passing! Very good photography, hélas makes one so sad! I always wonder why we don't have in France such houses built completly of wood! They have a special touch between simple and rustical. Great!

Many thanks for stopping by and commenting, Dan...I appreciate your response!!

I think it is beyond “about”. Nice shots but a sad situation.

Nice shots. Have you tried converting them to black and white or infrared?
