That is the direction he should be going except he already has that lens. People always want something different including myself.

put the 18-400 on my a7III with the MC-11 adapter for my morning hike these are just some "snap shots" Jpegs out of the camera RAWs were too big to upload
It didn't do to bad hand held of course.
