I recently purchased a Metabones Canon to Sony E adapter; am thinking about buying a Tamron 18-400 to use with this combo - anyone out there use this 18-400 with a Metabones adapter on any camera ? Also, will a tele-converter work ( not for the 18-400 ) seamlessly with this adapter on any camera ?

Tamron says no to the tele converter.
It is a great outdoor walk around lens. I am happy with mine.

I’m using a Nikon 5300 with the Tamron 18-400 and happy with the results.

I have "tried" it on My a7III with the Sigma MC-11 Adapter it does work, throws it into crop mode AF is a little slower than on my 7Dmk2 but image quality is maybe a tiny bit better hard to say ,haven't really shot more than a couple shots with it ,just to see if it would work , maybe I'll try that on tomorrow morning's hike

A7R III ( also have an a6100, not sure how that will work since it is APS-C )

The Sony 100-400 GM is worth the extra money, it’s the best 100-400 available and you will get the amazing AF and focus tracking that the A7III offers.

I have the Sony 100-400; but, I bought a Metabones Canon to Sony E adapter to use with a Canon TS-E 24mm lens, and I am considering how to get more use out of the adapter; I once had an 18-400 Nikon, and loved it as a general use lens, especially for traveling

I don't have the 18-400 -- yet! -- but have been considering it. I do know someone, a former Los Angeles Times photographer, who uses this lens all the time. And, on a D80, of all things! He gets AMAZING images with this lens.

Great advice. Except it doesn't answer the OPer's question...
