Paid taxes last year (no refund) When my wife and I go to the IRS site to provide bank info after entering SSN, DOB, address and clicking continue we get “According to information that we have on file, we cannot determine your eligibility for a payment at this time.” and only have a choice of exiting- no way to enter bank info.
Anyone know what this means and any other way to provide bank info?

In my state every check you sent for taxes and some other bills have the elected person holding the directors (or treasurers) office name on it for as long as I can remember.(city, county and state). I always though they shouldn't be advertising on official business correspondence.

My wife and I received our stimulus check yesterday, deposited directly into our account. Our income tax on the other hand is something different. We signed and filed in early February with no refund as yet. Checking the online site to check the status reports the IRS cannot provide any information. Apparently the Post Office either lost or destroyed our return. Phone lines are not in service and the offices are not open due to reduced staffing. Seems odd that the government can send out the stimulus checks (costing money) but cannot complete tax returns potentially getting payents in.
