Yup, just stay away from people and direct UV light should destroy virus anyway.

The World Health Organization calls that last part a myth. What's your source?

It's fine to go outside the house as long as you stay away from other people. You can't get the virus from a tree and you can't give the virus to a tulip. Just steer clear of humans.

We're not allowed to do that in the UK.

At least take precautions like wearing a mask! The latest word out is that the virus can hang in the air for up to 3 days. Some of us can't risk ourselves or families that way.

UV light does indeed kill the virus, but that is from very large doses using UV instruments, well beyond anything you encounter outside.

So being outside gains you no protection from the sun.

Exactly, and no BBQ'd bats for lunch while camping or hiking.

I could tell you a story about a bucket full of bats in the Philippines long, long ago and far, far away...

Being congregated indoors (including buses, trains and airplanes) in cold weather or hot, has killed far more people than anything else. People need to understand this was a lab created virus which means it is new "novel", and thus technically weaponized for maximum effect. It will eventually go away but unfortunately come back another day. There is already evidence of someone getting it twice.

I have bird feeders in my backyard and try and take pictures of birds on them every day. I post some of them at Nextdoor to share them. Same for bees on flowers, Geckos, etc. You can do the same.

Many photographers are sharing their images thru Zoom and GoToMeeting. And many are on webinars to improve their post processing skills.

If I had a sewing machine I would be making homemade face masks.

It seems to me that the whole country should be in a self imposed quarantine by now and yet people are creating contests that require someone to go outside the house. There are over 1,000,000 people with the virus world wide now and growing. Surely there must be a theme for shooting inside the house.
Everyone please stay safe and stay home if you can.
God Bless

I've been sequestered 23 days now and I have photographed everything in my yard. Stay-in-place doesn't mean stay-inside.

Just what is wrong with going out of "the house"? If I want to take my camera out to photograph some landscape, how is that a problem? I think society needs to shift a bit out of panic mode. However, the press isn't helping in that at all.

I haven't seen the press complaining about people going outside but maintaining the appropriate distance from others. I've just seen scenes of people getting too close like the spring breakers or church congregations.

Another photo project: I have a past due chore of photographing stuff that we want to have a record of for insurance purposes. It's just not as sexy as shooting flowers, animals, landscapes or people but it is fun once I get going. Just another idea for the stay-at-homers.

John, that is pretty easy to do. It's just my cameras and I.
