Anybody Else Experiencing GAS These Days?
No GAS attacks here! But I am starting to realize that there is gear I bought over the years that I haven't been using anywhere as often as I thought I would. Things I could have easily done without.

Nope - the Pentax KP that served me well in November {before I had ever heard of the covid-19 virus} continues to serve me well now.
If we had any money lying around, we would send it our two daughters, who are struggling a tad.

Time for a clearance sale!

I apologize. This question was unsympathetic to those who may be struggling right now. I should have thought a little harder about it.
Gas attack. Yes. But no purchases.
Ok, no photo purchases.
I did spend a couple hundred on pretty hand spun and hand dyed wool yarn for some sweater, hats and socks.
There's a difference, I can give away the stuff I knit and crochet and someone else gets something warm and comfy.
Camera gear just gets heavier every year... or maybe I'm just getting older than I think I am..
Remember, GAS doesn't make you a better photographer, it just means you have more weight to lug around and the stress of finding places to hide the new gear from she who must be obeyed!
i have been having a great time outfitting my video chat area with lights, mics, etc. Wife approves, because she’s the one that has video calls with her knitting and spinning groups. There is no end to the hardware and gadgets needed for this activity, and they are really not that expensive as long as you have the device or computer to make it work.
One thing i have noticed is that new offerings for gear on eBay seem to have slowed way down. You would have thought that hard times would generate more equipment sales, but so far that does not seem to be the case.

I have succumbed to a GAS attack that has been building for over a month. As I sit here with nothing to do I imagine my bank account is fairly bursting at the seams with excess cash I cannot go out and spend on the senseless things I usually buy. I own a Sigma 180mm, f/2.8 macro lens and I love it - but it's heavy. Real heavy. Over the last month or so the major on-line retailers have been advertising the Sigma 105mm, f/2.8 macro lens for $500 off the regular price. I finally gave in to the GAS and ordered it this morning. Anybody else ordering equipment they could probably live without?

Yes, just ordered 200 Sigma 200-500 2.8 APO lenses. Coming via Fed Ex tomorrow.
I have come very close but haven’t yet succumbed. I been looking at Sigma’s recently announced new 70-200. I have Nikon’s version which means I don’t need another. However, I don’t trust myself if the stay at home continues. This is a good time nature macro shots... happy hunting with your new lens.
I always have gas. So i know where you are coming from. But as things are as of now. I will probably wait until this blows over and buy a piece of celebratory photo gear. Be safe everyone so we can keep on shooting. Fiddlingbill.

No, not me because I haven't taken all of the really good shots that came embedded in my Canon 5DIV or RP, sigh.
I guess that I will have to shoot/cull more and buy less gear.

Gasless happy camper here.
I've been nursing a slight case of GAS for several months now while waiting for the R5 to be released. Once that happens and the reviews start coming I'm afraid it may become a full-blown attack! Had a major GAS attack in Feb. Bought a new boat primarily so that my shooting buddy and I can get out on the river to shoot wildlife and other scenes. First one in 45 years. Nothing big and fancy. Just a 16' with a 40 hp Merc. Just right for nosing around the river banks looking for critters. Told myself I would leave it at the dealer's until May when the weather warms up. Of course I didn't. Went back a few weeks later and brought it home. Now it sits in the driveway tempting (taunting?) me in the rainy, chilly weather we are still having.
I'm resisting, got an item picked out for when this dies down a bit, really don't need a new camera right now, we are pretty much just supposed to stay in the house, not sick, don't want to be.
I had a gas attack. Just bought two Voigtlander lenses. A 35mm 1.4 nokton and a 75mm 1.8 for use with my Leica CL with an adaptor.
Resisting the urge to buy a used M-10 now that I have lenses to go with it.
