You ask for a few month later with a few leaves. Here is the best I can do with my knowledge.
While adding leaves I took out your barn on the left and the building on the right. I removed the power towers then repositioned your horse. I have no idea how to make the grass greener or the straw to green. If anyone else come up the answer to that I would be most interest to see.

Fun indeed!

I tried to paint the dead grass, didn't work out too well. There must be a You-Tube video somewhere

Since you mentioned the power towers, look at the grouping of buildings in rear right, then over towards the reddish bit of trees. There's a group of cables that runs the entire width of the image I didn't see earlier! On the left side, it sort of looks like a road - I'm using that for an excuse.

Your time and efforts are much appreciated, Jim.

Great to see all the different versions. Thanks.
Was there an unedited raw file somewhere in this mix somewhere?

#1 unedited jpg from Canon raw file (2016 photo).

(NOTE: if you happen to use DPP for editing, you will need to remove the imbedded picture style (b&w) in order to have a color raw)

#2 is my edit today. Only the second time I've tried the de-haze feature of PS Elements 2018. I was impressed! I also used Nik tonal contrast and grad ND, along with Nik dfine, and a few other tweaks such as unsharp mask.

Please upload your edit to this thread and let me know the basics of your workflow. Many thanks!

I think your edit is very nice. I have not tried to edit anyone's photos as yet, but may try soon. Thanks for the lessons and opportunities y'all allow.

Hi Linda
Your edit is very good. I downloaded the JPG and opened in Affinity. Herewith my result - yours is better - I have managed to introduce some noise. I shall have another go later by downloading your RAW.

My RAW version - High Pass filter layer using PhotoPlus (which is my fav prog for layers). Opened the developed JPG in Affinity for practice and lightly used haze filter and played with contrast and color sliders. Closed and opened in PhotoFiltre to move horse and remove barn rather than crop it out, and finally re-size. Happy to leave power towers, which join the middle to the background and seem to fit in. Colors seem pretty natural so I had no wish to make greener. In not cropping the pic I tried to leave maximum feeling of the expanse.

The link in my opening goes to my dropbox account. Click that and you can download the raw file. It's a cr2 from Canon T3i camera. The first jpg that is visible in my opening is a simple conversion from unedited raw.

Looks good. Many thanks for explaining your decision-making as well as your software. I'm liking the uncropped view now too!

Hey Raymond, thanks for taking a look! Since there are six pages to this thread, perhaps you could use "quote reply" so people know whose edit you like best
