#1 unedited jpg from Canon raw file (2016 photo).

Link to cr2: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wlo4q53zyxhdr4g/IMG_1822.CR2?dl=0
(NOTE: if you happen to use DPP for editing, you will need to remove the imbedded picture style (b&w) in order to have a color raw)

#2 is my edit today. Only the second time I've tried the de-haze feature of PS Elements 2018. I was impressed! I also used Nik tonal contrast and grad ND, along with Nik dfine, and a few other tweaks such as unsharp mask.

Please upload your edit to this thread and let me know the basics of your workflow. Many thanks!

Thanks for playing, Vigneron! Unfortunately, the file you uploaded is so tiny I can't really see what you did. Can you re-send larger, or do you have slow internet that prevents?

Thanks very much, Mike. There's something weird going on in the sky, like it started out as a very small file and then was attempted to upsize or some other pixelation issue. Did you use the jpg or the raw to edit?

I think your edit is great, Linda. No need for me to try to do better.

I appreciate that, but sometimes it's simply about the fun of working on someone else's photo. No pressure I admit this one looks a whole lot better than my edit of 2016, though.

Thanks much!

Used layers in Photoshop to do an overall adjustment. Then I made a layer with just the mountain and used curves on that.
Quick 5 minute effort. It looks like I should have done a better job at the "horizon" because blowing it up you can see some haze there.
Note that I moved the black and white points on the curves. It came out a bit darker than I think it should be.

There is always at least one surprise for me when I host these editing challenges, and already there is this: I never thought about making the mountain the star!

I was trying to get clarity through most of the scene, but I remember thinking at the time that I was 2 to 3 weeks too early for a pretty scene (no leaves on trees, still a lot of brown fields). You solved that problem brilliantly! Many thanks.

(the building on the left can go, though )

I used the jpg. I will try with the raw.

This time I worked with the raw and tweaked some small things. Then I fiddled with a few distracting items on the midline. I like your composition, so I did nothing with that. I agree with Ken, I am not sure the shot needs anything.

Thank you very much, Mike! Looks good. I see you got rid of the power lines in distance

I offered the pic partly to see if any ideas came up I hadn't considered and partly to give folks a chance to play. It seems a different experience to edit someone else's photo, as you know from the weekly MIYV challenges. All the best!

I tried two versions, the full image and with the white barn cropped out like your version. Colors are definitely better in download. I used PhotoShop CC 21.1.1 and Camera RAW.

Jerry, thanks so much for your colorful interpretation!

One area of concern for me is the snow and cap cloud have taken on a greenish tint (on my monitor), so I adjusted just that (Nik white neutralizer + Nik Viveza curves/white point) in order to keep your pov otherwise. What do you think? A little blue-ish still, but more natural?
