Awesome Cindy,,, Never heard of that place. The only other one that comes to mind is Bosque Del Apache and the migration of sand hill cranes by the thousands. But the pictures you took top that. Thanks for sharing.

Those are some fantastic photos, Cindy. One day I'd like to venture there and see them in person and your pics are giving me another push to do it.

Went over to Choteau MT to Freezeout Lake and Priest Butte Lake to check out the snow geese migration. 100,000 Snow Geese, 3500 to 4000 Swans and 10's of thousands of various ducks....it was amazing. Plus we counted 44 Bald eagles as well ...the eagles were gorging themselves on the dead swans and snow geese. I don't think they killed them but rather were scavaging the birds that got hurt when they all took off at once.

The sound when all those snow geese take off....you just can't describe it...it was amazing. We were able to walk down to the water's edge to get as close as possible. What an experience!

So glad you enjoyed the pics! I have been trying to get there during the peak of the migration for years...but work or weather always got in the way! So glad I was able to make it this year.....it is an amazing sight to see and hear!

Thanks everyone......if you get a chance to check it out...it's worth it! The weather is on the cold windy side this time of year - winds on thursday were about 20 mph (but sunny) and temps about 30, winds calmed down on Friday but was still cold. We were able to walk down to the water and slowly work our way closer and closer to the largest group....what a thrill to hear and see them all take off at once! I am still working on processing some more pics and will post some more when I get them done.
