A Vodka maker in Texas sent out a notice a couple of weeks ago telling people NOT to use their vodka as a sanitizer because it didn't have enough alcohol to do the job right. Just the other day they announced that they had received permission from the liquor control authorities to sell a line of sanitizer that they were making, after repurposing some of their production line and bringing in some new ingredients.

We wife has a solution for that. She just drinks.. I mean rubs on ... twice as much.

Just heard that a distillery in Kentucky has converted their production to hand sanitizer solution (not a joke). God bless America.

I don't know about Kentucky, but MOST states put what economists call a "sin tax" on booze, and rely on that to fund all sorts of things. So it's essential TO THE STATE that they remain open to maintain the revenue stream!

One Indiana vile politician owns either 21 or 31 liquor stores. They were considered a vital business and are permitted to stay open. Politicians are the most vile "life" forms in the universe.

Second only to the lobbyists who own them...

I can understand that because there is a medical component to it.

There is a substantial tax revenue stream attached to pot sales, too.

Now, now, America is an equal opportunity insult society.

(Why can't we all just respect each other for the good that we represent? Diversity can be a tremendously positive force for creative evolution.)

The craft distiller in our town has converted over to hand sanitizer, I know a nurse at a facility that is getting the hand sanitizer, they all swear it smells like rum.

Pot shops and liquor stores in Denver were initially ordered to be closed, but the mayor succumbed to the pressure and ordered them to be left open. Doobie and jagerbombs are staples, I guess.

They've got nothing better to do and can't drive anywhere. Flash backs to Cheech and Chong movies.

Well, with everybody under what amounts to house arrest, and all the kids at home....of course the liquor stores are essential!

It doesn't have to be that way. We as Americans have become complacent about corruption.

I really cannot figure the reasoning they used to allow liqur stores to remain open. Maybe it is because most, if not all, states, have a state tax on liquor (alcohol) and if it doesn't sell, the state loses money. Maybe???

It would have to be at least 120 proof to be useable as a sanitizer, so I'll just have to drink my gin and bourbon. I think there are some rums that surpass that level.

I wonder if it because there are so many alcoholics who would add to our medical clinic burden going into withdrawal.
