It is a livestock sprayer. We had a newer version that had rubber tires and was set up a little differently. The spray went in the tank and the engine/pump created the pressure to spray the liquid on the animals.

Because it's a farm item, probably a fruit sprayer or watering device for a garden or orchard perhaps.

I believe it is a spray rig--possibly for an orchard.
The tank would hold the chemical solution.

Thanks for compliment - The area is surrounded by a high chain link fence so I used a point and shoot with lens small enough to fit between the links. Limited angles available from which to shoot. Would love to walk around the farm equipment and see the inside of the barn.

I believe it’s a spray rig, used in orchards.
Newer ones (but still old by today’s standards) were much larger and had a seat on top for a person to hold the spray nozzle and spray trees as it was pulled by a tractor through the orchard

The hole on the left side seems like an input or output connection.

My guess is that it is a very old commercial grade pesticide sprayer.

I was born and raised on a farm and we had a sprayer almost the very same as this. We used it to spray the fruit trees in our orchards .... it is a sprayer to spray the toxins to fight the bugs and diseases that attack fruits and veggies
