What a disgusting comment.

That's really neat, Gene. doesn't seem to be an albino either.

Olney, Illinois was famous for its numerous white squirrels when I was a kid. Last time I was there I was told that there are still some around in the park.

Thanks for the comment. We live in Greenville, SC. We have had them in our neighborhood off and on for quite a few years. Beautiful area around Brevard.

Thanks. Not albino, just leucistic. One is snowy white with on tiny black spot on the tail, the pictured one has a ring of very light grey around the entire tail and the other is off white. Fun to have them around.

They are leucistic, not albino. We have three that visit regularly.

Last summer, I came upon these black squirrels on the American side of Niagara Falls. I’m sure my more learned colleagues on UHH are aware of such a species but it was a first for me.

Nice shot. When I visited Ottawa I saw quite a few black squirrels. Unfortunately that was before I started using digital cameras.

Thanks. We saw a lot in Canada, also. I probably have some pics stashed somewhere.

Gene, nice shot! Here in Niagara Falls, we have black squirrels and grey squirrels. I have never seen a white squirrrel.
