Not at all.

The card has both names on it.

You get this “benefit” only if you use the card, so the “benefit” comes from the bank behind the card, not from the store.

B&H gets their money.
Your state gets their money.
Guess who provides all that money.
The bank doesn't give you any "benefit." It is B&H PhotoVideo that credits your account prior to the transaction being completed (charged to the card). That information is in the earlier link.

Also, HenryP has spoken to this several times:

OK if I use my Visa to pay for my stuff bought from B&H, I believe B&H has to pay some percent of the charge to Visa. Now what if PayBoo doesn't charge such a fee to B&H and is hoping a number of people will not pay in full and thus paying interest. B&H saves the fee but they pay the tax for you. This could work to B&H advantage because B&H can't lower the prices of the cameras (most manufacturers don't allow it) so this is a way of lowering the price to beat the competition.

B & H adheres to my simple rule of running a successful business which is "Low prices may bring customers in, but it is good service that brings them back in".

I have had nothing but superb service from B&H. They offer fair prices and have stellar service. Can't recommend anyone higher.

I didn’t mean to start a discussion about Payboo. Personally it does not appeal to me. My main point is their service is really good. That’s all they have to offer is service to differentiate between their competitors. Many companies sell at the same price. Not all companies have good service

Wondering what the "B" & "H" stands for, maybe their initials ?

I used to deal with Olden back in the 60's and found them to be a little shady. You had to know exactly what you wanted, and not let them switch products. B & H is much more reputable.

Your's is a perfect question for google. I went to wikipedia and found that B&H are the intials of Blimie & Howard Schreiber, the founders of B&H Photo. The story of B&H is an interesting read.

I have a Canon M50 and one of the well known downsides to this camera is poor battery life. I love the camera so I just bought a couple of extra batteries for travel purposes. One tip I learned the hard way was to always buy OE batteries and make sure they are manufactured by Canon. I have discovered there are batteries branded Canon but are not OE. I wish Canon would pursue those that steal their brand name and put a stop to it!

Thank you, and everyone else in this thread, who were kind enough to speak well of us. This is very gratifying.

The battery warranty likely has long expired. Save yourself further woe. Buy a new battery.

I have a dud battery that came with my 5D IV when I bought it new but it's been a few years or actually right when they were released. When it gets hot, it simply turns the camera off. Can't do video and can't do timelapse or it gets hot. Also, the battery will not charge back up until it cools all the way down to room temp. I tossed it.

Just wanted to relay my recent B&H experience. I purchased a Canon M5 kit just for lightweight travel photography. It is a freeing experience to not carry a 5D mkII and 24-70 f2.8 lens all day in crowds. Anyway I love the camera but noticed right off the bat that the battery life was not good. The manual says about 295 shots per charge. I was averaging about 135 which sucked.

When I got home from Israel I called B&H to let them know I had a dud battery. The customer service rep said hold on just a minute. When he came back on the phone he said you’ve been buying from us for a while and we know you are not trying to pull a fast one on us. We will send you a brand new canon battery free of charge. And just keep the old battery as a backup. Wow talk about customer service! bTW it was outside the return window

I have used B&H for more years than I remember and their service is excellent but lately I have used other sources including Amazon.

On popular new releases B&H always has a long waiting list while smaller retailers some times have inventory. Several of my last camera purchases were from large appliance retailers and I waited days and not months. Yes they were US versions.

Additionally I totally lack patience and waiting for new camera gear is agonizing. Amazon's attraction for me is fast delivery and often delivers in one or two days.

Return policy is totally simple and convenient in both cases.

I encourage everyone to keep using B&H as they are nearly bullet proof and by doing so those of us that are resourceful have more options at out disposal.
