Just wanted to relay my recent B&H experience. I purchased a Canon M5 kit just for lightweight travel photography. It is a freeing experience to not carry a 5D mkII and 24-70 f2.8 lens all day in crowds. Anyway I love the camera but noticed right off the bat that the battery life was not good. The manual says about 295 shots per charge. I was averaging about 135 which sucked.

When I got home from Israel I called B&H to let them know I had a dud battery. The customer service rep said hold on just a minute. When he came back on the phone he said you’ve been buying from us for a while and we know you are not trying to pull a fast one on us. We will send you a brand new canon battery free of charge. And just keep the old battery as a backup. Wow talk about customer service! bTW it was outside the return window

I have a dud battery that came with my 5D IV when I bought it new but it's been a few years or actually right when they were released. When it gets hot, it simply turns the camera off. Can't do video and can't do timelapse or it gets hot. Also, the battery will not charge back up until it cools all the way down to room temp. I tossed it.

So what’s been your experience with the replacement battery?

I am waiting on it now. I just talked to them yesterday. it will be interesting to see. I've read that some folks have this issue with battery performance. I suspect they are doing videos and chimping with the rear screen. I will stay that picture quality is good and the EVF is just killer on this thing in conjunction with the exposure compensation dedicated knob on top

I have been dealing with B&H for over 40 years. They have never disappointed. In my opinion they are the best.

When I was in art school in the early '70's B&H was a mom & pop shop on 17th St. in NYC. Their service was as wonderful then as it is today.

I don’t care...to go anywhere else for ANYTHING. If they sold BREAD I would get it from B&H. They do recognize the frequent and long term customer and they treat them very well. I have gotten computers, T.V.s & stereo gear from them, as well as camera cases & lens cases. Like I inferred earlier, I’m sure their BREAD would be worth every dime & be shipped on time......................................RJM

I have been purchasing camera gear from B&H Photo Shop since 2009. And I'm just an amateur/hobbyist. I will be making another purchase from them soon, on some miscellaneous accessories. At least 80% of my camera gear is from them. I have also recommended B&H to my friends. I have $40 in Rewards money, that I will use towards my next purchase. Great customer services, keep customers, like me.
