My heart goes out to you.
Your image is breathtakingly beautiful. I'm sure your companionship was also. Losing a pet is SO hard.

For me, this photograph perfectly symbolizes the moment that my dog, Duncan met his death just a day ago. I held him in my arms for the last two hours of his life and he was still there when the veterinarian administered the final solution that alleviated his pain and suffering. I was reminded of the words, "Father, into Your Hands I commend my spirit" and the image revealed just how quickly thereafter he was in the Hands of God.
So sorry Bob. Been through this with 2 of my Golden's last year

Beautiful sentiment! I feel deeply for you as our love for dogs must be equal. The image is perfect for the moment.
So sorry to hear of your loss. I bet you gave him a great life while he walked with you here. I imagine my Dad watching after my sweet labradors until I see them all again.
I too am very sorry for your lose.
If I may suggest read the poem "rainbow Bridge"

Been thru that ordeal several times, and it's never easy. But you have to what's best for them.
My condolences to you on losing your friend.

Bob. no matter how hard we try to prepare for the death in any part of our family, the loss is heartbreaking. I was a national rescue coordinator for a particular hunting breed of dog for four years and placed 254 of them. When I lost one of them, or one of my own, I always remembered we would meet again at the Rainbow Bridge. I also will tell you the best place to bury a loved pet is in your heart... My sympathy to you.

So very sorry Bob to hear of your lose. I did the same thing almost a year ago with my Persian Cat. As I held her until it was over I wondered what she was thinking; it broke my heart, but I, like you, loved her so much I couldn't stand to see her suffer any more. God bless you and ease your pain for having the love and strength to give your companion back to God so that He would be relieved of his pain and suffering.

Bob, I have been there as well. Loosing your best friend is something you never get over...you learn to live with it! Learn to live with "ALL THE GREAT MEMORIES", and talk about him often!!!
I feel your pain. But...all things end. Be happy that you had "EACH OTHER"! My thoughts are with you. God Bless.
Your Friend in "Ground Hog Town USA",
Boone.

Condolences, Bob,
And as a retired veterinarian, with a tear in his eye, I can absolutely assure you that your recognition of Duncan’s need was a true blessing and a most loving, final gift to him!
