I have often wondered if the increased violence on TV and in the movies does not dull our sensitivities to these kinds of occurrences, causing us to "lose our civility", as another writer stated here. Apparently, this has been studied quite a bit, but no conclusions have been reached, either way. To me, it seems like common sense.
So true a good post. Studies article I saw a few years ago said children see thousands of violent images
and film and video before they reach 18. The old westerns had gun fights and they were funny.
But for the last years what video games and Hollywood is pushing for profit incredible violence doesn't take
a genius to know the results. I also think the prevalence of hard core porn is having a huge
effect not only young people and everybody. I don't believe in censorship but maybe some responsibility
towards are children and our society would be appropriate.
