While I have not seen the Netflix drama you are discussing I have spent 30 years arresting and later babysitting felons, both male and female, who have done similar heinous crimes toward children, the elderly and just plain the rest of us. The do-gooders in our society often forget the pain and suffering by the victims while looking for ways to forgive and explain away the disgusting actions of the felons.

Civilians have no idea of the evil in the world and usually just go merrily through life thinking all is well IF it is well for them. Perhaps that is the way it should be.

Yes, we have recently had a horror case of a guy who had problems, got into a car with his wife & 3 beautiful children, poured petrol over them & set light to them & helped by stabbing himself too.
There’s shock & anger in the country how this could happen. Marital problems the root cause.
Very sad that women & children are so often the victims.

These crimes happen quite frequently and yet America’s Liberals demand that Guns be confiscated such as the AR and AK variety of MSM (Modern Sporting Weapons). In real life more people are murdered with knives than with those firearms.

But it isn’t knives or firearms but the increasing nature of people to not respect life as well as the rights/feelings of other human beings.

You notice this happened in Los Angeles, California.
That's justice in California. It will only get worse.
And now that we are moving out of Nevada, we are thankful because California is encroaching into this state as well, politics and everything else.

One of the convicts I worked with on Colorado’s Death Row and the last one put to death dragged his execution out for years claiming he was abused. Look up Gary Davis and his wife, Rebecca Davis. He and I spoke many times During the years I worked with him. We got along well because he and I both served in the USMC. He was an alcoholic and according to his wife, I worked with her also, when he drank he was abusive. She said he would turn on an iron and press it against her skin.

Both were in prison because they were celebrating his getting off of parole. They drove to Eastern Colorado where they tortured and killed a ranch woman. Rebecca testified against her husband and received a sentence of life in prison. Gary was sentenced to death.

While many people look upon convicts being put to death having been in that environment for over 20 years I guarantee each one truly earned that sentence. Gary Davis and another death row convict asked one day if I would personally be willing to pull the switch. Without hesitation I said I would be happy to do it. Both told me they knew I would say that. It is easy to think of someone behind bars as the victim. But consider that right here on UHH there are most likely numerous victims of child abuse and some child molestatation as well as other mental health causing problems. They somehow are able to have gone through life without killing people or becoming criminals.

Dennis, there’s no question about the fact that you are correct.

But I don’t think that changes my argument that one needs to look at the way these misfits were raised. Evil raises evil, or something like that!

I have done some documentary work homeless,
First Responders etc. Do docs and short form for business.

I saw this on Netflix and will not watch it. Netflix recently has a
bunch of Holocaust films. I have been to the museum in Israel.
And read a few books a few years ago.
But some of the films on Netflix have footage that
is just to horrible to watch.

The torture of a child by 2 awful people in LA to me
is not one to be on Netflix or any station.

I took your reply to mean that some accommodation might be made because these little tykes were abused as children. Yes some were. But my point is many kids are horribly abused and yet grow up to not kill others or commit other crimes. “Some people just need killing”, is a law enforcement term I was acquainted with from the USMC and others in my family were in law enforcement. There are people around us every day that if permissible when they next kill or rape someone or other criminal activity, they should be taken to an area where will be SSB’d, Shoot, Shovel, Bury.

I have often wondered if the increased violence on TV and in the movies does not dull our sensitivities to these kinds of occurrences, causing us to "lose our civility", as another writer stated here. Apparently, this has been studied quite a bit, but no conclusions have been reached, either way. To me, it seems like common sense.

So true a good post. Studies article I saw a few years ago said children see thousands of violent images
and film and video before they reach 18. The old westerns had gun fights and they were funny.
But for the last years what video games and Hollywood is pushing for profit incredible violence doesn't take
a genius to know the results. I also think the prevalence of hard core porn is having a huge
effect not only young people and everybody. I don't believe in censorship but maybe some responsibility
towards are children and our society would be appropriate.
