Make sure that you read and understand all coverage details and exclusions. Some homeowners' policies do not cover items outside your home or off your property. Many policies have exclusions on international coverage.

Charles - which travel insurance did you have? I’ve always purchased AIG’s Travel Guard, and fortunately, have never needed it. Your story is exactly why I purchase for each trip...
My wife bought the Insurance.
She said the bill was paid by Arch Insurance.
She bought it thru one of their sales Rep.s
The Swiss. Hosp. wanted to keep me for another 5 days but I refused and was released after 2 days there.
My problem was, hard to breath, because of going to a high altitude and once my lungs were clear after (2 Days) I felt great. I left that altitude after the 2 days in the Hosp.
I believe in Travel Insurance.
Sure, Auto Owners Insurance Company will insure camera equipment either as a feature of their replacement cost policy, or listed as "scheduled personal policy" as an addendum to the home owners policy. All camera items are listed with complete description and cost. The policy or schedule will set the terms of coverage (%, less depreciation, cost to replace, used value estimate, etc.) Make sure you understand the terms of the endorsement (schedule or policy feature) before you agree to the policy terms. I have this policy!
