I frequently talk about how much I enjoy Black Point Wildlife Drive but it is for more than the bird photography. There are many other creatures to see and enjoy-wild hogs, Bobcats, gators, wild flowers, butterflies and more. There are also unending scenic vistas to enjoy.

The first shot is of grasslands with a trio of Roseate Spoonbills flying in the distance. The second and third shots are earlier shots from a prettier day.

Nice set Carol

Piloting that bird saved my backside more than once in VN 1964-65. Wish I was still young enough and healthy enough to still fly one. That being said I still believe I could fly one if I could just remember how to get the darn thing started again? Then again flying one today might be just an illusion of my mind.

I can understand your attachment to and appreciation of this fine machine! I’ve only been in a helicopter once and I didn’t get to really appreciate it. It was a medical ambulance that probably saved my life!

High quality, sharp images, Carol - especially #2 and #3
What equipment did you use?
Did you use a tripopd, filter?
I appreciate your careful composition of clouds, reflection and the drier land on #3.
Happy shooting!

Carol, fantastic set and the DDLs really show the details off. On an aside, I used to hunt the WMA areas in Florida and they are scattered all around the State. Maps are usually free and can be had from the State or local outdoor shops. Again, I really enjoyed this set, brings back so many memories to me.

Thank you, Paul. 2 & 3 are from an earlier trip. They were shot with a Nikon D810 and Nikkor 30mm using a tripod. I believe I shot brackets and used hdr but definitely no filters. The beautiful scenery at Black Point was the main reason I got that lens.

Thank you, Bernie. Just keep in mind, it’s primarily a winter place.
