I felt there was much untapped potential in the grayness. So many wonderful textures and so many ways to use light and shadow selectively.
Linda, your first edit does it for me. Brings out a lot of detail, particularly in the grasses. The original is too dark which hides tremendous details.

If so, I just worked on brightness/contrast. Banding is pretty visible.

I replaced the posted sky with one of my own
Brightness and contrast sliders work on the entire image equally. Learning the tools for selective editing can be worth the effort. Depending on your software: radial filters, curves, levels, layers and layer masks.
I like the shot a lot but must admit I prefer Linda’s first edit.
Linda's edit is really nice. She did have good stuff to work from, jederick.
Nice work. In earlier viewing I had not noticed the manure spreader and the use of the steel t-post on the fence. Thanks.
