Unfortunately, this forum doesn't have a feature for taking a poll, so this will have to do.

Do you subscribe to Adobe or do use use alternate programs? So, the choice is simple:

Subscribe

Don't subscribe.

Yes, it is really stupid to spend so much money on such a weak package.

I can understand why you feel that way, but for me, it's neither "so much money," nor a "weak" program. I generally dislike subscriptions of any type, but 17.00 a mo. for up-to-date Lr + Ps (never could afford it pre-cloud) + others, plus a TB of storage, actually saves me a bunch of dough... with all due respect.

Did you ever have to suffer the cost of film?

Took a LOT fewer photos way back then. Even though I bought film in 100' lots.*

* I had originally written 100' cans, but the film was rolled up so the can wasn't anywhere near 100' in any dimension.

Statistically speaking 50% of the population of the world is more intelligent than the other half. You two are, obviously, on opposite sides to that line... perhaps by quite a distance.

I did, actually. Yes, starting with my first photo class at U of M, through Kodachrome and Ektachrome during my time in Viet Nam, and my daughters twenty-year-ago wedding in b&W Ilford. Pretty sure I spent more than $17 per month through all that, just on the film.

But, all that aside, I'd sure like to see the results of the Adobe Poll. I can always cancel my subscription.

I might be wrong, but I think bsprague was being sarcastic about the high cost of the weak program.

I subscribe and will go step further. Almost all my edits can be done in ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) before entering the Photoshop module. It may be the most useful $10 (plus tax now) I spend each month.

I apologize if that came across as rude. One day I will learn the lesson of never trying to be facetious, humorous, sarcastic or light hearted in a reply on a public forum. Even emojis fall short.

In this case, the topic was about who uses what. The reply triggered a pavlovian response from by bias toward what I belief to be a great product at a cheap price.

"Never have, never will." resonated in a way that suggested (to me) Adobe subscribers were, somehow, suckers.

Again, I apologize to you sir. Our world has become so deeply divided over everything, it is silly to be divided over photo processing programs.

The new me, will be more pleasant, less divisive, prone to more words and use of emojis as insurance against any misinterpretation
