I’m my camera club I’ve seen amazing sunsets. Some very unique ones!!
Some are better than others. I thought this one was interesting. Taken with an Iphone.
Think of the sunset as a background to the foreground image you compose. This will make every sunset unique.

True the sun sets every day, but *where* are you when it sets? That's what keeps me going back; my location and whatever foreground, and even sometimes background, are present.
I worked for the railroad for 40 years in train service. I have seen so many sunrises and sunsets that pictures could file many books. I am here to tell you take pictures of them but watch out in a matter of minutes they change. Have fun.

In my opinion, no, he is not correct. The colors change, the cloud formation (if present) is different, the landscape will change (especially if there is vegetation present), people or animals may be included, and so many other variables. Sunsets and sunrises are like the clouds and snowflakes and fingerprints, all are different, and also beautiful. Keep taking photographs of them and enjoy the various results.
Would like to see some of your work posted here.
A beautiful sunrise on the lake ?

Great example of another beautiful sunrise. It could also be a beautiful sunset.
Sunrises are a better test of your dedication to capturing beauty.

Like snowflakes, every sunset photo is different.
