Sue, just a little side comment. When I was doing shows I often made a swing over to Sheridan for the art festival at the local community college. It was always a great time. Every evening after closing up our booth, we’d sit around and have a few beers and listen to the bands with the locals. Great little community.

Small comment on pricing....

Why will you ever want to align your price to a so-called competition????

You think the guy who sold a potato image image for a couple of millions priced this little amount because he compared his 'art' with some other doofus?

When I was in a photography course in college 47 years ago the class had an exhibit of our work. To my surprise, someone wanted to buy my photo, a b&w printed on mat board. I got all excited and asked the professor what price I should put on it, thinking I had hit paydirt! He told me to calm down....that I'm just a beginning photographer, and don't get a big head. He said $20.00 would be reasonable. So I sold it, and have wondered ever since then what happened to it.

Update on this whole pricing thing. I got a verbal honorable mention from the judge, which for me was pretty cool. I have the photo in my home, alas it was not sold. That is fine with me, I love the shot. I learned so much doing the show, don't know if I will do another, all depends on my mood when it comes around and if I want that much stress again. If we were not required to put a price on our work, it would be a whole lot better.
Thanks again for all of the insight, I appreciate it!!
