What would you do, ordered new, sent a demo model Canon RF 24-105 L lens? RESOLVED
Not going to name a company (one of the good guys supposedly) but here’s what happened, the below is the email I just sent them. The demo is $100 cheaper than new just to clarify that part. Would you be ok keeping it since they did automatically lower the price?
Received my order and I have to say I was surprised to of ask for a brand new lens and I specifically said I wanted new due to warranty and resale value and at that time I was charged for new on my CC. The next day I noticed that order was canceled and a new order was generated which I didn’t really understand then I noticed a lower amount was charged to my CC (was charged full price originally) and today I received a used lens in bubble wrap, no box or warranty card which means no warranty and resale value drops a lot.
Not happy about that but I will just keep it and hope it has no issues as I’m sure Canon won’t honor any warranty. This is sad to of had an order just canceled and switched with no communication with me. Lesson learned on my end as I really thought I was dealing with a company that has a great reputation. Oh well! I did attach a PDF of what my original order was before it was changed.
Pretty sure it wasn't, "One of the good guys". They wouldn't bait and switch. You shouldn't have to ask for new. Name the company. Others can roast me if I'm wrong.

PLEASE name names! We know 42nd St. Photo and Abe’s of Maine pull that stunt, but who else?

Send it back (at their expense) and request a full refund. Then reorder a new lens from a different supplier. Contact your credit card company and alert them.
Really not wanting to bash a company here, waiting to see what they say tomorrow but it was none of the sketchy ones, I been here long enough to know them. Was not B&H but one with as good of a name on here.
I’m more wondering if y’all would trust Buying a demo lens with no warranty? What they did was wrong but it will save me $100 in the end.

Depends on the lens history (was it used, reconditioned, a demo?), is there any warranty? Does it look new except for no box? Even reconditioned lenses typically have a warranty. If there is no warranty, then I’d consider it used and $100 is not enough of a discount.
A second consideration. Is it the MKI version or the new MKII? The MKI had a known ribbon cable issue that could cost $300-350 to repair if it fails with no warranty. Secondly, with the MKII now available, MKI values have dropped to the $400-500 range.

No, I would send it back. $100 on an $1100 lens is not worth no warranty and uncertain provenance.

If it didn't come with a warranty card, that's a problem if you were clearly buying a new lens. Hopefully, this resolves easily as the 'good guys' really are the good guys. The $100 discount isn't worth it if that was not the deal you were shopping for. Please update when resolved.

Call them and send it back request a shipping label and a full refund. What happened to you is bait and switch.Hold payment by notifying your credit card company
This is not brain surgery, TELL them to swap it out for new at same price already billed for used because of the delay, lack of using and extra time this is taking. If sales clerk can't do for you, ask for his manager, if he can't ask for his boss (owner?). If he doesn't agree tell him you will return, let us all know on UHH and buy elsewhere. I'm betting you get a new for the price already billed (from 39 yrs in Sales & Marketing).

OOPS! I misread, thought it was EF - senility is setting in
If they are "the good guys" they would be glad that you held their employees to the original agreement.
They have to make it right.

Why not name names? Tell us so we can be aware. There is no reason to keep it a secret, if you're telling the truth they can't sue you.
