I have a couple of these.

They work well. At first they don't know what to make of it but after a very short learning curve, they get the hang of it. You aren't supposed to leave them on all day and night but after your dog knows that when it's around their necks they will get a shock for barking, you can loosen it up and leave it on. They will learn that they can make really quiet bark sounds which I'm ok with. Just check your dog for any sores on the neck if you do leave it on.

I’m deaf but I think I can sympathize with the folks who are upset by the barking (my wife for one). But much of what’s been said here is true of Johnny. He alerts me with different barks and different looks and I would never try to change that. Usually a simple “s-h-h-h” will quiet him when necessary. You gotta love ‘em regardless.

A dog trainer made this suggestion (after thoroughly checking for some ambient noise that is hurting the dog's ears, and yes, some dogs bark just to hear themselves. She said to thump sharply with a finger on the top of the dog's head and give a sharp command "no". This might have to be repeated a few times, then try just the sharp command. followed by a treat if the dog stops with the verbal command. Worked on my dog after the second time. Previous to this, I had a larger dog that barked at everything, especially when we were gone.. A Pet Safe antibark collar was very effective in this dog: https://www.chewy.com/petsafe-static-basic-bark-control/dp/48565?utm_id=272259755&msclkid=02b15fa334681c90868301b084559906&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Shopping-Product%20Targets-Hard%20Goods-NB&utm_term=4585307087341470&utm_content=Dog%20Bark%20Control%20Training.

I have one that I am not using if you want to try it, message me.

Use a Citronella collar it sprays a safe shot that does not hurt but they do not like it. after a few times all we have to do is say do you want the collar and she shuts up.

I worked for the postal service for over 20 years and had an ultrasonic device, press the bottom each time the dog barded he stopped. I had a really barky dog the first time i used it on him nothing. However the cat jumped over in the yard with a really mean dog. The story is if the darn dog is deaf nothing works. lol

Yes, dogs bark for attention, but not all or most of the time, if a dog barks all the time then something is wrong with the dog.
