What is a resolution?
A firm decision to do or not to do something.

Will you learn to better use your current equipment?

Will you learn your processing software?

Will you organize your legacy images?

Will you organize your new images?

Will you sell your unused and outdated equipment?

Will you ask for help?

Will you answer a request for help?

Will you use selective focus with an off-center AF point placed specifically on the subject?

Will you investigate higher ISOs?

Will you use your flash?

Will you use your tripod?

Will you try Back Button Focus?

Will you create an image over the next 366 days that achieves your resolution?

Learning how to use the features on my cameras better and taking more pictures is on my list.

Happy New Year everyone!

Will you vow to listen to your wife before clicking. (Or hubby if that fits).

I have to learn to pay attention to settings in manual mode. I find that some times i change the iso to to high, the shutter to too slow and the f/ stop above f/8. That is i adjust the exposure with no regard to the settings. this happened too often on the last trip

I need to fine tune the lenses on the D850. I have done that on the d500.
I need to hit the gym harder so i can carry all the stuff.

I've questioned this approach from the first time I saw one of those 'x photos in x days' sort of thing. My main fear is that it leads to just going out to snap a shutter to accomplish that goal. I tend to lean more towards Ansel Adams's approach, "Twelve significant photographs in any one year is a good crop."

Except for family snapshots, I'm going to try to shoot only black and white all year.

The initial post along with others and reading a very comprehensive article on birds in flight photography this morning have caused me to think about making a new year's resolution to attempt doing just that. Thank you.

When I shoot low I resolve not to groan out loud while getting up.

Organize my images! They are a mess!
Also I'm learning black and white film developing so I'll be seeking a lot of help.
AND, I want to spend more time learning and doing photography. It always seems to take a back seat to other stuff that just needs done. Life isn't all about the little things that need done. Get out and have fun before you can't anymore. When I'm too old to get out, then I'll stay home all day and do my laundry and make sure my house is clean. Photography needs to move farther up in the ranks. I vow to make more time for myself!

Hope everything went well!
Getting my new knee early Monday morning and planning to use the down time to learn about photography.

Thanks, Tommy! Yes, the surgery went well yesterday morning, and I was able to come home last night! Lots of rehab work ahead of me, but I'm glad to have the surgery over with. Good luck with your operation on Monday! Like you, I'm going to use the excuse of my surgery/recovery to take time to watch some videos on post-processing and learn more about my camera. :)

WOW, what a list. I think the primary resolution will be to better understand and use
my processing software. Have tons of 'RAW' photos that I could work with. Time on the
other hand is limited to hour or so per day, if I am lucky!

I will learn medium format film photography, and learn how to use my light meter in all situations.
