My Sigma 150-500 stopped working some time ago. I just concentrated on using manual focus which works most of the time, unless you are trying for a Kingfisher in flight. That is an exercise in futility if there ever was one.

What does all of this have to do with auto focus on my Sigma 50-500.

Nothing...Why don't you direct the conversation by asking a specific question?

You could also give the circumstances as to what led to the auto focus not to work.

What conditions were you shooting?

A drop of any kind? ETC.........

Quite honestly, before asking UHH about issues, I always check out the item’s customer support including a phone call if needed. Last resort is a post here.

Contacts might be dirty. Clean them with alcohol.

I have a sigma 150-500mm that auto focus stopped working. I sent it back to sigma and they repaired it for 120 USD including shipping back to me. I told them what camera I was using it on and it came back Sharper than when I sent it in. I received great and fast service. They said the auto focus pcb was faulty.

I had it for a few years and the motor gone, fixing price was told about $250 or more, I didn't do it, and I converted it to a 1000mm tele-scope (day time use only, due to the slow small aperture)

Have a sigma 24-70 and love the beast, but when I bought my Pentax K-1 there was some sort of mount glitch. I was asked by sigma to send it to them and they would fix the it. Evidently if you attached that lens to the K-1 body, it might have scratched the body & lens .. the fix was fast and free. I do have a few SIGMAS and have never regretted the purchases. And great to deal with, that one time I had an issue. If there was a lens (range) that I don’t already have covered, and sigma made one I would not hesitate to buy SIGMA AGAIN. They seem to be always getting better, and always a fair price................RJM

I own mostly Nikon glass but I have ONE Sigma: 120-400mm 4.5-6.5 OS. AF quick working. Sent it to C.R.I.S - chandler AZ (authorized Sigma repair facility). $99 plus $28 for shipping (I live in HI). They had it one week and now it works like new. The Tech that fixed my lens told me they see just as many Nikons as Sigmas AND Nikons are often more expensive to repair.

Interesting side. I have owned over 40 AF Nikon lenses that have never needed servicing. Others who own Sigma's, on the other hand , have a much higher failure rate. Interesting isn't it. Yes indeed.
