This is an event that includes 12 hours of historic car racing. Sebring International Raceway is built on an old Army Air Force base that was used for training B-17 pilots from 1941-1946. So four years ago they decided to bring in vintage aircraft to the event. The aircraft do not fly during the event, but they taxi in before the racing starts and are parked where the starting grid lines up for the races. Some pretty cool photo ops. This event was last weekend. My buddy owns the yellow and blue BT-15.
All photos were taken with a Nikon D500 & D7200 paired with a Nikon 80-400 and Sigma 17-50.

The autos are beautiful but I love the old birds. Some of them take me back to a time when I was an indestructible, daring young ace ready to defend the free world from oppression, at least in my own mind. Great snaps, thanks for sharing.
Thanks and you're welcome! I love old airplanes as well. I do a lot of aircraft photos. Click on the link in my signature to see some of my work.

Very nice work on all of these.
I used to jump out of one similar to your #7 photo. It's a Howard DGA-15.

That Howard was beautiful.

Great photos.
It would be nice if the planes and cars were identified.
Planes in order by photos:
P-51 Mustang
Stearman
BT-15
Bulldog
T-34
Howard
BT-13
T-6
I can name all the cars too, but not doing that. Sorry.
That must have been a blast!
Wow! Great photos. Just love those old planes. Thank you for sharing
You have an amazing eye! These are 2 of my absolute favorite things. The other 3 are
NASCAR FUELIES, photography and my girlfriend-last but certainly not least.
What more could anyone want.

Very nice photos! Our closest track like Sebring is Road America in Elkhart Lake WI. Airplanes like Sebring would be interesting there as well.
Fantastic set of photos and what a great variety of racing machines. I really like the Ford GT with the Porsche and Mustang (ā66 Iād guess) - # 17 +- by my count.
Port light is Red, Left side, Starbort light is Green, Right side.
Great series, but I have never seen port & starboard lights on a racecar, #77, white & green.
Thanks for sharing the set. Awesome.
Excellent series David.
