I have been looking at this company for a while...

40x40 = $360.00

Has anyone been using them?

Which company?

Ok folks, 'metal' prints are not aluminum prints.

Aluminum metal is the most popular metal for printing. What other metals are commonly used?

I have never sent photos out to a commercial lab. I have a Canon Pro-100 that I use for printing nice photos, matting them myself, etc.
I want to get my daughter something different for Christmas and thought of an aluminum print of a place they love, like Jekyl Island. Got some great shots there 24 pixel cameras
Anyone have experience in Aluminum Prints?
Thanks

I have given several prints on aluminum to friends over the last 2 years. I got them printed by Adorama.

Another vote for Aluminyze. I have ordered four 12 by 12 size from them and each is fantastic.

After about 4 print-on-metal outfits I've settled on Costco. Every bit as good as the higher priced places and they do a fine job.

The only downside is fewer choices, you git what you git, where other places have many more sizes, multiple surfaces, many mounting and framing options, clusters, splits, etc.

Yep. Epson Metallic Photo Paper Glossy. If the image has highlights, white or color, then you can see the metallic sheen through the light coats of ink. I am into birding and when there is a darker bird on a lighter green background (brighter tall grass or trees) that background really shines. It gets interesting when the image is of a white bird.

You are printing that on the canon p100? Do you have a paper and ink profile for soft proofing? How do you apply the print to the aluminum? Where do you get the aluminum?

Whoops reread your post. You aren’t doing printing on aluminum, just printing on ‘metal’ paper.

True.......since I'm only choosing "big" (16x20) or "small" (8"x12") I'm not concerned with variations on the theme. But the quality is top notch.

I have gotten very good results from McKennapro, not only for aluminum but also paper prints. I suggest you look into them.

I've done a few on metal at MPIX.com. Really turned out well. Mostly now I get them printed on metal paper. You get that depth on that as well.

MPIX has been my go-to.

I've only tried one aluminum print (Blue Angels formation) and I used Bay Photo - took 3 or 4 tries to get it right (either mount had made dimples/creases showing through the front or Fed Ex dropped the pic on the ground) but the end result is on my wall in my bedroom. My experience may not be typical. I'd probably have it done again at some point, but I usually print my pics and any good ones I have framed at a custom shop I use near my work.
