I noticed Nikon is advertising a refurbished Nikon Z7 Mirrorless for $2,199; a $1,200 savings. How is that possible? Their newest and greatest already with problems? In order to published this price there must be many in this condition in stock...
Usually refurbished cameras come with full warranty. If I were invested in Nikon I would consider it for sure.
I find that surprising too. But, it could be a holiday reduction price. When cameras are returned to the store. They are not considered new, and sent back to the company, to be checked out and resold as refurbished. It cannot be sold as Brand New again. So, they have to make some money off of it. The Z7 is Nikon's premium mirrorless full frame camera. I suspect many will buy that camera at that price. So long as it is not Gray Market. I won't buy a Gray Market cameras. Nikon USA gives a 90 day warranty on refurbished camera gear.
Refurbished are generally not defective ones. Most of them are returned ones that people bought but returned in short time or loaners to reviewers.

You sure that price is not for a body only? If so, only a $500 savings over new and about what you would expect for a refurb. If a 24-70 lens comes with it, a savings of $1100 and I would kindly ask you for the link so I can buy my 2nd one.

A lens is not mentioned at all in the op.

I know. But a new body is only $2699, a savings of $500 not $1200. And I see no refurbs on the Nikon site. Thus my request for clarifcation and a link.

I was quoting the price published by B&H this morning. Body only.

Very true. Customers often change their mind and companies like B&H allow them to return items within a certain period of time. When the camera is returned it can no longer be sold as new. If the camera is returned to Nikon at this point for inspection etc and if Nikon only gives it a spit shine it will be listed as refurbished

Found it! Even though this is a B&H price/advertisement, not Nikon's price, who cares! I thank you for the alert! I'm considering another Z7, or perhaps a Z6 as a backup. hard to pass up at this price point.

I found it also. B&H is an authorized dealer and the camera has a Nikon 90 day warranty. I'd guess the price is also a Nikon price.
B and H has had them at that price for quite some time.

$2699 is the sale price rite now. It probably will go up again after Christmas.

I purchase refurbished models ALL the time! Absolutely nothing to worry about and as long as you are purchasing from Nikon, and you have full warranty, you should be good to go!
