I found mine on eBay, got an excellent low click camera at a reasonable price. As I stated earlier I have been very pleased with it.

Well I guess I'm super lucky on craigslist. ebay has at least 5 D600 cameras under $350 right now. Most have photos of the serial numbers. Just go to the Nikon link I put up before and see if those cameras qualify for the shutter replacement. I'm looking for a friend who wants one so let me know if you like an auction there so I don't bid over you.

Hi,

I purchased a 610 about 4 months ago. I did a tour of New Hampshire and Maine for about eight days shooting over 550 photos, mostly on AP. I could not be happier with the camera and the 28/300 lens. Except for the weight.......
The Nikon Store site now has a sale on the 610 +a 50mm for less than I paid to my 610 body. If the weight is not a problem for you get one.

I hope this helps you,
Joe P.

Is anyone still using the D610 or recently purchased one in 2019?
What do you like about it?
I have read mostly great reviews, but some not so great reviews about the video capabilities, which I don't care about. I am switching to a full frame for real estate and abandoned property photography. Looking at used equipment.

Thanks

Sorry, just found your partial answer. Why the need for full frame? Not trying to talk you out of it but they are much more expensive. If it's mostly to shoot R.E? I would go with crop sensor and spend your money on glass.

I have a mentor/instructor teaching me real estate photography with a full frame camera. I also love to travel backroads and find abandoned buildings, autos and so forth to take photos of. Just a hobby. But I have been using my instructors D750 and just love that camera. Can't afford one and the glass too, so thought I would try the more entry level D610. Do I need a full frame? My instructor says yes, but I'm sure that I could do without. I think it is more that I want one than anything. I hope that doesn't make me a greedy pig.
If any of you tell me that I can shoot real estate photography just as well without, I was also looking at the D7500.
Photography has been a hobby for me since I purchased my Pentax K100D Super many years ago. I am semi retired now and have started making some money with photography. I am not a pro, far from it. While I do just fine with the creative side, I am having a very difficult time understanding the technical side. I get the basics but definitely need more training and education, hence the instructor in addition to online classes. Still struggling. I don't need to make a living with photography, but do like making some extra money where I can. If any of you are retired and making some money with whatever your niche of photography happens to be, I would love to hear from you. Sorry about the long post and sorry if I am breaking any etiquette rules. I am new to all of this. Thanks for all your help.

The debate continues. Of course your mentor wants you to buy full frame. She clearly has her reasons why that is her choice. Have you asked her why? Lots of people buy full frame because more "pros" shoot full frame. Pros actually shoot both. There are plus and minus to both. The biggest advantage to full frame is they shoot better in low light, like night photography. They also tend to have a better dynamic range ( blacker blacks and whiter whites ) . I'm not going to get into debth of field differences. Just my opinion but if your still in early stages of learning I would buy crop sensor, better glass and take classes with the extra money. Remember it's just my opinion. It's not the camera but the photographer that creates great photographs.

I appreciate that feedback. My instructor says I need a full frame because that is the first question the realtors in thus area ask, "do you have a full frame camera?" He directed me to this article: https://www.photoworkout.com/best-cameras-real-estate-photography/
I guess the realtors jumped on that bandwagon too. I agree with you. I need more classes and it will be me, not my camera that takes better photos. You have motivated me. I m going to do a survey of the local realtors myself to see if they care more about the equipment used by the photographer, or more about the results driving sales from the images captured.

Makes sense. If you take the same picture with full frame and crop sensor and you adjust for focal length you can't see the difference.

For what it's worth, I defy, just about anyone, to look at an 8X10 or a web image, to identify whether the sensor used was crop or full frame. That includes realtors.

Just curious, if you had a large budget, would upgrade to a full frame or buy one?
