Red-shouldered Hawk, after the bath

These hawks are not as easily spooked as other hawks and are quite good-looking. Here is one captured at the Sacramento Nat'l Wildlife Refuge two days ago. It was really into preening its feathers after a bath, most likely in the small, steep-banked stream down below. The coloring indicates it is a juvenile.
