Look, I sometimes do "weird" ones too, but those are obviously abstract art or something so modified that it enters the realm of graphic art and not photography, yes that could include "photographic art". But the subject image is certainly not other worldly and begs to look like the nature it is. Most newer cameras and even a few older ones (like mine) and capture more dynamic range natively and look like traditional photographs, see Malarz's images.

I have to admit that people perceive vision differently than one another just like sound. Some people seems to require more "gain" for everything. Some people regularly listen to classical music at volumes I don't listen to heavy metal at. (And I do listen both metal and classical, and most other types of music.)

Well said, to each their own.

I prefer reality, I guess you don't.

No photograph is "reality". They can give a good illusion of reality, but that's not the only thing photography can do. I find the OP's photo more interesting with the saturated colors and I think it would bore me if it were a mere attempt to show the scene the way the eye sees it. I love impressionist and abstract paintings, and I like photographs which have a vision that goes beyond the way the eye sees things. I can see "reality" with my eyes. I prefer my artworks to go beyond that.

I like the saturation of the image. I too prefer this over the "reality" as some are saying. It is your image to process as you see fit. Some are not creative and treat photography as journalists do. I like art and enjoy seeing what people create. SOOC people are a strange bunch in my opinion.

We all have styles and tastes that differ from others but it is the ones who insist their way is the best that bug me to no end. No vision and close mindedness will stagnate your photography quicker than anything else.

Great shot but color is blindingly too bright and saturated. I'd like to see a natural treatment. So many images ruined in (over) processing.

It's a beautiful shot but I wondered how it would look with less saturation as well. I'm a plant nut so for my own photos I try for as realistic as possible. I realize not everyone prefers that look.

Honestly... I think the color that is most jarring is the green. The golden colors pass at this time of year and are beautiful with that blue sky. It's just unusual to see that much or shade of green in autumn ... it might pass more easily on a springtime photo. I find myself often tinkering with the greens that come out of the camera... either desaturating just a little or bringing down the luminance a little bit. If it were the featured color, maybe not... but when other things are really the star I don't like the greens to be so luminous. That's just me though.

Thank you for sharing the picture ... my FIRST reaction was just how beautiful it is.
