These cameras have been around for a lonnnnnnng time. 40+ years ago I met a cute girl and she blinked at me repeatedly, obviously taking pictures. I don’t know what happened but we are still together and have children and grandchildren.
When I am with them I don’t get anything done, these machines are dangerous!

We all recall the dawn of digital, my favorite Nikon came out with a Camera that while it took good pictures it looked like two wallets attached in the middle. Does anyone else remember these? It worked well but no real photographer would have anything to do with it it did not look like a camera. So they had to return to the form everyone knew. I still do not like mirror-less camera.

Naw, not for me. I will keep my 35mm SLR"s and my dSLR's. It is not that I am a skilled photographer (which I am not), I just like the idea that I can, at times, take a photo that amazes me using only my skills (or lack there of) and luck.

Yes, I do use "Auto" settings much of the time, but occasionally with my Nikon F4e, the urge comes to try setting the camera, and the long wait to see what happened, usually I have lost the paper I wrote the settings on, and wonder about what I did to screw it up. Sort of being facetious, but this has happened many times.

I still like the SLR's and the dSLR's, and am not interested in the mirrorless cameras. Why would I want to give up my collection of Nikon Nikkor Lenses, and have to lay out more money to buy new "Z" lenses to produce what most photographers would see as amateurishly bad photos? I have still got a bit of the GAS Syndrome, but I successfully stifle it most of the time, after all, I know it is the skill of the photographer, not the equipment that produces quality photos.

Elsewhere a poster noted how cameras are evolving and I though of this as a futuristic. The camera mounts in a harness clamped to you. Then two little temple pads attach in some highly creative way. Then when you turn the camera on it points to wherever you are looking. Then you think of composition and the perfect shutter, aperture, ISO, and color balance are automatically set. A mere blink of the eye fires the shot. Fluttering the eyes multiples the shots. Think bright and sunny, gray and somber - the perfect settings automatic. All the technical stuff is taken off your hands leaving with 100% time for artistry. Let us hear your dreams camera-wise.

Thanks , but no! If it were like that, I would stop taking pics!
