Oh man, let me know when you put the bacon on and get the tomato sliced. I’ll grab a quick flight down and join you. The BLT is my all time favorite sandwich. Lightly toasted.

Oh, and I like your pic, too. 😄

Tks Wing, but you better hurry. Tomorrow, they get harvested, cleaned, sliced, and added to the applewood smoked bacon, and crispy lettuce, slatheredin Mayo! I can wait til din-din if you can make it by them.

don't know if it's available in your area, but there is an organic fertilizer called Milorganite, not sure of the spelling, that works wonders with vegetable plants... in our area Home Depot and Lowe's carries it...just throw it around the plants and forget it, no watering in necessary

Nothing better than fresh off the vine home grown tomatoes and BLT's.

Nice looking tomato plant Dean. Do you grow "Heirloom" tomato's or the the regular hybrid type? I did not have a garden this past year, but for the last 7 or 8 years, I have gotten the heirloom plants at a long time local nursery a few miles from me. I have had better luck with the heirloom plants, and found varieties that we liked and thought tasted much better than the regular tomato plants.

Kinda like photography I guess right... to each his own.

BLT. Best sandwich ever. Eat one for me.

Better still is a BLTA, bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado. Farmer Boys makes them. Except I tell them to leave out the L. Don't like lettuce on sandwiches, too slippery.

Have tried damn nearly everything available, and have not had much success with any of them. Will keep at it, however.

No avocado for this BLT lover.

Great picture. Tomato are not usually so difficult. you might check the ph of the soil and make sure to feed them accordingly. In this cold weather, make sure that the soil is not dry when it is so cold and give them a nice drink prior to the extreme cold so that they do not freeze. My garden in inside on my window sill and I move the plants away from the window at night. Good luck and happy gardening. These tomatoes look good.

Tks Sam, tried all the nutritional angles, not much success. I now bring this plant inside at night and return it to outside sunlight during the day.

Plan to harvest today and dine on BLT tonight!

I am a tomato fancier, but have a really tough time getting good results for some reason. I have read and applied all the topics I can find, and still my plants struggle to produce a good return for all the tender care I provide. This past summer, I tried the hybrid kind in pots, same result. Except this year, one of the plants produced a volunteer plant late in the season I have been nursing this one ever so caringly. The photo shows that I may yet get a decent tomato. I have been bringing this plant in at night to protect against the freezing temps we are now getting, and it looks like the tender care may pay off.

I plan to celebrate tomorrow night with my absolutely fav meal, a BLT piled high with crispy strips of applewood smoked, thick-sliced bacon, juicy home grown tomato, and crisp lettuce, slathered in Mayo!

My mouth is starting to water already.

Hope you have some success with the late bloomer. My late Father-in-Law used to put Epsom salts on the ground around the tomato plants and he always had a bumper crop of delicious tomatoes.
