I wish you had too. No, we did not stay in the lodge, but we did eat in that dining room yesterday. We stayed closer to Cumberland Gap National Park. It was kind of a last minute trip and I have not been able to aggressively enjoy the area as I came down with a rotten cold as we began the trip. We are heading back north today but any tips you have for travelling up I75 would be appreciated.

If time allows, take old HWY 25 north and keep your eyes peeled

If you can backtrack about 15 miles the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg is full of old architecture.

A brief synopsis of what can be seen along HWY 25 between there and Lexington, Ky.

I usually make two images, one with and the other without the filter. In many cases I select the non filter version.
The 10 stop ND filter image looks very attractive to the eye.

Thank you for that. We are getting out the door earlier than we first anticipated, so that is possible.

That one seems to be a good balance of the possibilities.

I think that I also like that one as I saw many photos with similar compositions to the first two, but not so many from that further distance and the patterns of the river flow being more evident is nice as well.

I went to Cumberland Falls KY yesterday and really enjoyed the park. I took photos handheld, and took others with a 3 stop and also a 10 stop ND filter. I have known some who strongly dislike the slow shutter speed photos of rapids/falls so certainly it is personal preference. I think both versions have their place. By the way, this Falls, during full moon, has a Moonbow. It is the only place that does this in the western hemisphere. I missed that chance by one week.

Nicely done Sue
