A beautiful and well crafted set David. I have never believed that documentation and art were mutually exclusive.

Thanks Phil. I feel the same way. To me, art doesn't have to be something new or different. It just visually stimulates the viewer. Rembrandt painted portraits of individuals. There was nothing in the subject matter that was new or had some hidden meaning. But if he had used a camera, the images wouldn't have been considered art by some. Robert Bateman's wildlife paintings are art, but if he had captured the same thing with a camera, some think not. I just enjoy capturing and sharing my images with others.

If some of the audience enjoys them, that is great. If they don't, that is ok as well. Some like blue cars, while others prefer red.

By the way, some of the reserves are seeing the winter birds arrival. Sandhill cranes and many of the waterfowl species are at Cosumnes River now. Let me know if you are still interested in getting together some time to shoot.

Thanks again for the comment.

The cat is at the Folsom Zoo. With all of the countless thousands of hours I have spent exploring in the outdoors, I have never seen a mountain lion. Here is another from th Sonoran Desert Museum near Tucson. Some of the newer outdoor enclosures are very nice places to practice shooting. Many nearby resident wildlife will also come in and visit.

Thanks, and happy shooting.
