Don't worry too much, Linda, that's most likely not the worst thing that has or will fall into that bog. Just sayin'.
Linda, exactly my thought. I was hoping it will not end up in my cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving dinner.
The cigarette ashes don't bother me but finding a butt in my cranberries would. Nice set of images and dialog. Thanks for sharing.

I'll be inspecting my next batch more carefully, for the butt, too. But, in truth, there's much about ALL harvests that you just don't wanna know! And with Cranberries, they're in water anyway, and they wash the heck out of them, too.
Short of paying $1 per berry for hand a picked one at a time, there are going to be some "anomalies."
Linda,
The cigarette ash really bothered me,too. Made me wonder if it got in with the cranberries.

Always amazed at the amount of work involved in harvesting cranberries. Beautiful set. Ever think of submitting the photos accompanying an article for a local magazine?

Don’t worry. They probably go through some heavy chemical washing before they reach your table. Hope that makes you feel better😊
You can bet your butt (pun intended) there are dirtier things in that bog than his cigarette butt. And I am sure when he got that cigarette down to an nub, he walked the 40 yards to the shore and placed that butt safely out of the water.
Just wash it all before using. Quite a story thank you
Nice educational series, thanks.
The wet picked or harvested berries are for processed cranberry products. Dry picked cranberries go into packages for sale as whole berries.
Thanks for sharing, as I always wanted to see this in a picture.
