I went down to the big lake (Lake Michigan) this AM. These pics show a little of the wave action when the winds hit 54 mph. Very little or no beach left due to erosion. Several homes along the shoreline from South Haven to Traverse City are in danger of falling into the lake. Dune erosion has exceeded 40 feet this year alone due to higher than normal water levels and high winds. Bear in mind the high winds and gales on the Great Lakes usually come in November not October.
Any and all comments are welcomed. (What can I do better or differently?)

Wow! That will blow the stink off of you.
I think you told a story with your photos and explanation and told it very well. I found the photos most interesting and appreciate the views. The fencing was a bonus for the photos.
Wow waters a little rough today

Great shots. I looked at the wind map yesterday and noticed that the lake was extremely windy compared with the surrounding area.
Glad to see pictures of the lake in these conditions
Great set. The sea was angry that day. Thanks for sharing them.
Great shots. Could almost feel the wind on my face (not a good day for kayakers)

I love that 5th image the most and that windy coastal surge is serious stuff. The erosion is really taking a toll on that area it appears. The climate is really starting to shift everywhere now.

All fine photos, but no 5 is my favorite because of the splendid isolation of the light and the roiling see with no visible constraints.
Nice photos--I was in South haven a couple weeks ago and encountered some strong winds.
