Never had problem with my Transcend cards but did with 2 Sony cards. Recovery was a bear.
Sounds like there might have been a contact problem. Maybe need to be cleaned?
Sometimes cards become slower and such.
Once in a while I use the SD Association SD Memory Card Formatter for tune up. Overwrite format. Takes about 10 minutes. Format in camera after use.

What would cause photos not to record on the memory card on my D7100. I am using a Transcent 90MB/s, class 10, 32 GB cards. Has the card failed or is there a camera issue. I switched cards and everything seamed to work fine. But I lost about 92 photos.

I use Sandisk, there new cards come with a free software membership to help you recover corrupted files if it happens.

You may not have had an issue with SanDisk. But others have. I am glad that you have not.

I think there is some validation to the thinking that buying your Memory Cards from a reputable Photography / Video store, there is much less chance of aquiring a Memory Card(s) that are defective.
Not that there is a possibility that a Defective Memory card could possibly show up anywhere.

SanDisk now comes with a free two year subscription to rescuePRO as a free download when you purchase a SanDisk memory card. So, it appears that they even acknowledge that things do happen.
