Most people that print and calibrate their monitor get prints that a darker than the monitor. I suggest you set your I1 calibrator to a lower brightness level. I have had success setting the level to about 70. Don't be afraid to go lower if needed.

I know I'm not the only person who's prints match what I they see on their monitor. Are they an exact match, NO. The difference that I'm talking about is the difference in the media that I'm using. Remember, your viewing an image on a back lit device and your viewing a print that's using indirect reflected light and that makes a difference. When I print on watercolor paper which has zero sheen its not going to look like the monitor did, but its not darker, just not as shinny. So I scratching my head asking, what am I doing that perhaps they are not. First, are any of you who are experiencing dark images using a laptop computer without an external monitor? If you are then that may be your problem. My laptop monitor automatically adjusts the brightness based on the ambient light in the environment I'm in. If you are using an external monitor that's great and when you start your profiling are you measuring your ambient light before you start. All of my profiling devices start by measuring the ambient light in my working environment. That value is used in the determination of your luminence or brightness value for your monitor.
When I take out images for print, my printer always looks at the image with me and what do they have over their monitor, a monitor hood to minimize the ambient lighting effects as it is constantly changing with all the large windows in the shop. If you didn't have the hood on you wouldn't be able to really see your image because it would be to dark.
As always I hope that this helps.
