I reseted my 810 because I couldn’t find my errors, after this battery life is 100% better. Nikon to reset is painful, just saying....

It's always a good idea to save your setting when you have no issues, like now. That way you can just restore them if you need to do reset. Not really too painful.

Make sure airplane mode is on, i.e., wireless turned off (menu-> wrench -> Airplane Mode) . This turns off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Network (on the next screen). I'm assuming the D7500 menu is the same as my D500 menu.

Great advice, I've taken 900+ shots in a day, could have taken more.

I own this camera and I haven't seen this happen to mine. You might also look at the screen brightness in conjunction with how long see leaves the viewer on, for viewing or live. My only problem is when out shooting for the day my whole camera body gets very hot, so I pull and exchange out current battery - afraid it will explode - yes it gets that hot

My wife's D7500 (9 mos. old) has been burning through batteries. She has been getting less than 300 shots per charge. I have tested her batteries in my D850 and they are fine. She does not use live view, uses single shot and I have gone through her menus to insure that there is nothing unusual turned on to use battery power. Before I send it back to Nikon, I am interested to know if any Hogs have encountered this problem.

I don't have a D7500, but a couple things to check...

Does the camera have WiFi and/or GPS? If so, are those "on"? They both put a serious drain on the batteries and in some cameras will draw the batteries down even when stored.

Another thing to check is how long the camera stays "awake"... how quickly it "goes to sleep" after a shot is taken. This might be something you can change. I set my cameras to the very minimum, because they "wake up" almost instantly anyway (older cameras that took a long time to wake up, it was another matter).

If the camera doesn't have WiFi or GPS... or if they are "off"... and you've got it set to "sleep" quickly, I'd contact Nikon. You'll probably need to send the camera in to have them check it. It's still under warranty, isn't it?

Now that we have all listen for zebras, here's the horses. Isn't there a setting for when the camera goes to sleep? Could be it stays turned on all the time.

An app Snapbridge run in 6he background and will continue to load to you paired smart device. Use airplane mode as stated before.

I have had my D7500 for several years and can always get well over 300-400 shots at a time and still have 75% of the battery available. I have just finished a two week road trip and probably taken nearly 8-900 shots and battery says it is still have full.

Thank you all for your input. Ultimately, I did a factory default reset which corrected the problem. I have no idea what the culprit was but hav re configured the menu items to her preferences and it works fine.
